If you’re like me you spent many childhood hours covering school books with adhesive backed paper and trying to smooth out pesky air bubbles. Now, as an adult and mum, I have the pleasure of enjoying this experience again because with three kids I am going to have many years of contacting books ahead.
Fortunately, I recently discovered the amazing Contastick – a revolutionary applicator designed specifically for Contacting books. This thing is unbelievable and I am not going to say too much more about it as I have prepared a video to demonstrate how easy and brilliant the Contastick is so you can see for yourself.
I completed about five of my son’s books before I filmed the video and while I never had any bubbles at any time it did take me a couple of books to get the hang of it. I found it easier to ease the backing away as I pushed the Contastick with the other hand but I think this was because I was using foil adhesive backed paper. Perhaps with regular sticky back paper or clear Contact I could have just used two hands, like in the manufacturer’s video, but my technique works well for me so you may find your own way to perfect your covering.
Let me know below what you think of our first ‘How To’ video and also any other topics you’d like us to cover. Happy book covering!
Yesterday we were privileged to be invited to attend the launch event for the new LeapBand from LeapFrog.
